Dean Bonner has been a resident of Marietta, Cobb County, since 1971. She has been a member of the NAACP since 1960 and a Life Member since 1980. Deane Bonner is a member on the National Presidential Council and a
Para-legal graduate of Kennesaw State University. Deane is the wife of retired
Air Force officer, Jesse Bonner. They are the proud parents of two children and have seven grandchildren. |

Under her leadership, the Cobb County NAACP has been very active in the community, politically and academically. Some of their accomplishments include: the Annual Education Forum, daily voter registration, host
political forums, meet with city and local school, police, and civic organizations. The Afro-Academic Cultural Technological & Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) has also been implemented. As a way to ensure continuous improvement in the school systems, the Cobb County branch of the NAACP monitors the city and county school systems as part of the ongoing Civil Rights suit with the Department of Education. We also have formed partnerships with local churches and other organizations.
