As I look back on my years as President of the Cobb County NAACP, I always felt communication was most important to the community to keep them
abreast of the activities of the Branch. The bimonthly newsletter mailed out was
a outstanding and I thank Ms. Lynn Thompson for her expertise in that area.

Our focus on raising the number of life memberships and increasing the regular membership was important and thanks to Ms. Beverly Patton for our success in increasing life and regular memberships. Our aim was to return all phone calls to the Branch within 24 hours. Sometime we failed, but I am proud to say that we returned calls in a timely manner.

The working relationship with other community-based organizations was critical to the mission and objectives of the Branch. I was extremely pleased that we continued associations with some and made new friends with other organizations. The projects we were able to work on together successfully, such as the placing of the Martin Luther King, Jr.
Memorial road signs and the Community Roundtables are highlights that I look back over proudly.
